Over three million Americans are estimated to be struggling with opioid addiction. 107,081 people in died of overdoses in 2022. And in Appalachia, overdose related deaths for people between the ages 25-54 are 72% higher than the rest of the country. To address the crisis, proceeds from Larry’s Appalachian Journey Blend will go to the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), which is expanding “a recovery ecosystem” to build post-treatment support on a community level, including recovery communities, peer support, health, human services, faith communities, criminal justice, public safety, housing, transportation, education, and employment.
